Saturn Vue
In the collection of SUVs produced by General Motors, Saturn Vue has hold a top sales place till the very market launch of the Aura division in the summer of 2008. Saturn Vue is unique presence in the automative industry as the first vehicle to be designed with a GM Theta platform. The market offers all the Saturn Vue models lauched along the years, and people buy them either directly from authorized representations or through auctions and classifieds as second-hand cars. When it comes to design, Saturn Vue is not that unique as it shares its unitary platform structure with other cars like Chevrolet Equinox, Opel Antara and Pontiac Torrent.
Since the launch of Saturn Vue in 2002, models passed from 4-cylinder to 6-cylinder design which brought a significant superiority in terms of horsepower, which now reached 186kW. The 4-cylinder Saturn Vue vehicles were made until 2005 when General Motors decided to focus on producing more powerful cars exclusively. Another modification took place in 2006 when Saturn Vue got a face-lift and significant improvements in the interior design concept. Thus, besides the cosmetic trifles that were also added, the quality of the materials was significantly improved. After 2006, any standard Saturn Vue would include cruise control and automatic headlights systems.
Moreover, General Motors decided to produce Saturn Vue cars in two other distinct lines: the red line and the green line. The former is designed for high performance with improved horsepower and includes sportier features; moreover, the seats covered in leatehr, the high-quality visual updates, the the increased comfort by means of front bumpers and the special audio system make this Saturn Vue vehicle fall in the luxury category. Then, it is no wonder that the fuel consume is higher than with the average Saturn SUV, which also justifies for a higher price.
The green Saturn Vue depends on a normal engine that is assisted by an electrical motor, and the results for the environment are remarkable with the limited fuel consume. The electrical motor regulates the stops and restarts of the vehicle; it brings the great advantage of quieter driving and reduced fuel consume. So far, a 20% saving has been reported on the average, but in perspective the initial investment is worth analyzing. The only problem with the Saturn Vue hybrid model is the high price in comparison with regular vehicles. Even if in time the payment bonus isn’t late to appear, the financial effort of the purchase remains a reality for the average buyer.
